The Lord's Prayer - Our Daily Bread

The Lord's Prayer - Our Daily Bread.

(March 2013 - Week 3)

(1). Matthew 6:11 Give us today our daily bread.

Exodus 16:4 Then the LORD said to Moses, “I will rain down bread
from heaven for you. The people are to go out each day and gather
enough for that day.”

(3). John 6:35 Then Jesus declared, “I am the bread of life. He who
comes to me will never go hungry, and he who believes in me will
never be thirsty.”

Matthew 6:31-33 So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or
‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ 32For the pagans
run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you
need them.
33 But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all
these things will be given to you as well.

(5). “When we pray, "Give us this day our daily bread," we are, in
a measure, shutting tomorrow out of our prayer. We do not
live in tomorrow but in today. We do not seek tomorrow's
grace or tomorrow's bread. They thrive best, and get most

pray for today's needs, not for tomorrow's, which may render
our prayers unnecessary and redundant by not existing at

Prayer Thought: We know how to give thanks in prayer for
physical bread/food. We don’t always give thanks for the
daily bread of what God is speaking to us or wants to
reveal through us. Let us continually ask God for what
bread he wants to give, today!
