Who Are We Listening To?

Who Are We Listening To?

(June 2013 - Week 1)

(1). Genesis 3:1 He said to the woman, “Did God really say, ‘You must not eat from any tree in the garden’?”

(2). 2 Timothy 4:3 For the time will come when men will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear.

(3). Isaiah 51:4 Listen to me, my people; hear me my nation...

(4). John 6:63 The Spirit gives life; the flesh counts for nothing. The words I have spoken to you are spirit and they are life.

(5). “We must listen to God, and be attentive to Him, forgetting ourselves and all self-interest.” [Madame Guyon, A Short Method of Prayer]

(6). Prayer thought: We don’t have a shortage of voices when training our ears to listen in prayer. Satan, other people, and our own thoughts compete for our listening attention. God calls us to listen to him, and the result of hearing his voice is spirit and life.
