Listening for Others

Listening For Others
(June 2013 - Week 5)

(1). Luke 22:31-32 "Simon, Simon, Satan has asked to sift all of you as wheat. 32 But I have prayed for you, Simon, that your faith may not fail. And when you have turned back, strengthen your brothers."

(2). Acts 27:23-24 Last night an angel of the God to whom I belong and
whom I serve stood beside me 24 and said, 'Do not be afraid, Paul.
You must stand trial before Caesar; and God has graciously given
you the lives of all who sail with you.'

(3). Daniel 2:26-29 The king asked Daniel (also called Belteshazzar),
“Are you able to tell me what I saw in my dream and interpret it?" 27 Daniel replied, "No wise man, enchanter, magician or diviner can explain to the king the mystery he has asked about, 28 but there is
a God in heaven who reveals mysteries. He has shown King Nebuchadnezzar what will happen in days to come. Your dream
and the visions that passed through your mind as you were lying
in bed are these: 29 "As Your Majesty was lying there, your mind
turned to things to come, and the revealer of mysteries showed
you what is going to happen.

(4). “The Church has not yet touched the fringe of the possibilities of
intercessory prayer. Her largest victories will be witnessed when
individual Christians everywhere come to recognize their
priesthood unto God and day by day give themselves unto prayer.”
[John R. Mott]

(5). Prayer thought: God reveals himself to us as we pray. He then
reveals who we are. As we trust his revelation, he extends his trust
in us, by revealing things about others: those who cannot hear him,
those who may be learning to hear him, and those who do hear him
but God still desires to encourage through his body.
