The Lord's Prayer - Lead Us Not Into Temptation

The Lord's Prayer - Lead Us Not Into Temptation.

(March 2013 - Week 5)

(1). Matthew 6:13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.

(2). Mark 14:37 Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak."

(3). 1 Corinthians 10:13 No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it.

(4). Luke 22:31-32 "Simon, Simon, Satan has asked to sift all of you as wheat. 32 But I have prayed for you, Simon, that your faith may not fail. And when you have turned back, strengthen your brothers."

(5). It is a common temptation of Satan to make us give up the reading of the Word and prayer when our enjoyment is gone; as if it were of no use to read the Scriptures when we do not enjoy them, and as if it were of no use to pray when we have no spirit of prayer; whilst the truth is, in order to enjoy the Word, we ought to continue to read it, and the way to obtain a spirit of prayer is to continue praying; for the less we read the word of God, the less we desire to read it, and the less we pray, the less we desire to pray. [George Muller]

(6). Prayer thought: Don’t be surprised at our being tempted. Pray to deal with our weak flesh. Know that Jesus is interceding for us.
