Waiting On the Lord
Waiting on the Lord
(April 2013, Week 2)
(1). John 13:7 Jesus replied, “You do not realize now what I am doing, but later you will understand.
(2). John 11:5-6 Jesus loved Martha and her sister and Lazarus. 6Yet when he heard that Lazarus was sick, he stayed where he was two more days.
(3). Psalm 40:1 I waited patiently for the LORD; he turned to me and heard my cry.
(4). Psalm 27:14 Wait for the LORD; be strong and take heart and wait for the LORD.
(5). We plan the whole answer to our prayer. It seems so easy to us. We think there can be only one thing for God to do if he is to answer our prayer. The answer must come now; it must come immediately. And it must come exactly the way we planned it. [O. Hallesby, Prayer, page 49]
(6). Prayer thought: Constant praying is not like ordering at a fast-food drive-thru. We must wait for God to reveal his answer. We can’t be in a perpetual hurry to go somewhere else.
