(February 2013 - Week 4)
(1). Romans 9:20 But who are you, a human being, to talk back to God? "Shall what is formed say to the one who formed it, 'Why did you make me like this?'"
(2). Psalm 115:3 Our God is heaven; he does whatever pleases him.
(3). Proverbs 19:21 Many are the plans in a person's heart, but it is the LORD's purpose that prevails.
(4). Romans 8:28 And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.
(5). "Most Christians salute the sovereignty of God but believe in the sovereignty of man." [R.C. Sproul]
(6). Prayer thought: We initially think that God fits our perspective and answers our demands. He reveals to us that he does as he pleases. As we continue to come in prayer, we discover that our perspectives, attitudes and plans must conform to his purpose. We put our answers aside, listen to his direction, and begin to pray according to his will. Our sovereign God answers the prayer that he desired us to pray in the first place.
