WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?

At Bay Ridge, people dress in what is comfortable for them, from suits or dresses to jeans with sneakers. We believe God looks at the heart, not the outer appearance, so come as you are.

WHAT IS WORSHIP LIKE?

Our worship style is contemporary. We sing both older hymns and more contemporary songs, all filled with solid Biblical content. Our meetings also have prayer for ourselves and the world, times of fellowship, clear teaching of the Scripture, and frequent celebration of the Lord’s Supper. While we do not follow an official liturgy, you may learn more about our pattern of worship (including the biblical basis for each part of our meeting) by clicking here.

WHAT IS THE TEACHING LIKE?

At Bay Ridge we believe in teaching the Scripture. Most Sundays our lead pastor, Bret Hicks, teaches- but others will teach as well. In all cases, we teach passages of the Scripture, helping people to understand God’s Word and then to apply it to their lives.

For samples of our teachings, click to see our Teachings and resources page.

ARE VISITORS PUBLICLY SINGLED OUT?

No. We do give you a visitors packet, and you may sign a card if you wish and request more information or a call from someone in the church, but that is up to you.

WHAT ABOUT MY KIDS?

We have a wonderful children's ministry on Sunday mornings that encourages children to know and love God. It spans infants through 7th grade. We have a fun-filled nursery for children ages 2 and under, which is available at any time. We also have a quiet room for nursing mothers. For the children ages 3-9 we have an exciting children’s church program called Kingdom Safari. There is also a ministry on Sundays for middle school students. The children are dismissed after the time of worship to go to their classrooms upstairs.

Visitors are welcome to walk their children to these classes and accompany them during the class, or you may choose to keep your children in the meeting with you.

HOW OFTEN IS COMMUNION SERVED?

We regularly serve communion on the first and third Sunday’s of each month. We also take communion at others times as the Spirit leads.

Communion is only for believers, but you do not have to be a member of Bay Ridge Christian Church to participate in communion with us. All followers of the Lord Jesus Christ are welcome to participate.
